Highland Park, Rochester
We live next to a stunningly beautiful park (Highland Park). The springtime show is just beginning with the blooming of the magnolias, dogwood, cherries, daffodils, tulips, glory of the snow, snowdrops, etc. The blooming trees and flowers will carry on through the lilacs, azaleas, buckeyes. The park is over 100 years old so some of these trees are just towering.
Super (admiration) Market
Felix adores shopping; 1) because of all the different sights and sounds, 2) because he gets to be at my height, and 3) because he gets lots and lots of attention. The staff loves him, but mostly old men love him. I am not sure as to why, but the old men flock to him. They always tell me the same joke (I kid you not, I have heard this joke 4 times at least.)
Two babies are in a crib, the first baby turns to the second, "Are you a boy or a girl?" The second baby picks up the blanket and peeks under it. The second baby says flatly, "A boy." The first baby says, "How did you know?" The second baby says, "I'm wearing blue!" lots of laughs.

Felix Awake, Felix Asleep
Here is Felix awake during our walk in the cemetery yesterday, and here is Felix asleep during our walk in the cemetary. The second picture reminds me of the old picture from the ranch where everyone is gathered around me in the wheel barrow with a pillow in the bottom of it. Does anyone have that picture? I would like to get a copy?

Dirty Laundry
Today was Felix's first foray into the land of the laundry basket. Frankly, I am surprised that Sophia hasn't introduced him to the joys of sitting on clean folded laundry, but no matter. Felix had a great time playing in the basket while I folded clothes. It also gave him the opportunity to practice his "standing up" skills.

First cut is the deepest! This is a picture of Felix's first real visible injury (pride does not count). I don't know when or how it came about, I feel I have let him down by not knowing. Needless to say, it has a disproportionately (disproportionate to the injury, proportionate to my sense of shame) large bandage.
Proud as Punch
Felix and Lizzie
A couple of afternoons a week I sit with Lizzie (the little girl above). Lizzie's mom is also a professor at St. John Fisher. Lizzie is a beautiful little one year old who will be walking any day. Felix and Lizzie enjoy spending time together although they are still at either solitary (Felix) or parallel (Lizzie) play.
